April Fools!

Last week, I played an April Fools joke on both classes using extra copies of the Terra Nova test. Our school does not take this test anymore so what’s a teacher to do with all these extra test booklets?

Dr. Vickie Kauffold, our school’s Superintendent had visited a day early so I blamed her for our school “volunteering” to take the test again! Sorry Dr. Kauffold! It sure made my reason to take the test seem real! I also had Mrs. Pick stop in to give a short pep talk:)

I handed out the test form, along with an answer sheet, did my best to provide “official” directions, then told the kids to open their test booklet to page 23. If body language could talk, we would definitely sign up for an extra reconciliation this week.

On page 23 they found a half sheet of paper that said APRIL FOOLS! The video shows their reaction.

Hello Class!

Hello Everyone!

Unfortunately, I was exposed to a cousin over the weekend who tested positive to Covid. Per the CDC rules, I have to quarantine for seven days. That will keep me home the rest of the week. Even though I am fine and feel great, I would much rather be there with you!

I know you will have a great week with Mrs. Lyons and any other guest teacher you will have. Make sure you show them the same respect and kindness you show me every day. Be great helpers, but also listen well! Whatever the guest teacher says is what you do, even if it’s different than what we usually do when I am there. Any good report from a guest teacher will be worth Cardinal Cards!

I’ll be checking in on you from time to time using GoGuardian and reading your blog posts! I will also try and schedule a Zoom session with Mrs. Lyons so I can at least see you and say hi.

Have an awesome week! Your guest teacher today, as you already know, is one of the BEST, and I’m not “Lyon…” (Sorry, couldn’t resist)

Health Care Workers Blessing Bags

Each homeroom will be responsible for making their own group of Ziploc bags filled with snacks and goodies for health care workers.  A half coloring sheet will be added for a colorful note of thanks.  We will write a note of thanks on the back of that coloring sheet.  When all the supplies are collected, the class will assemble the blessing bags!

Ideas for items to put in the ziploc bag: granola bars, non-perishable cheese & crackers, candy bars, pretzels, healthy chips or popcorn, whatever snacks you like, gum, mints, Crystal light/water flavoring packets & bottle of water, small travel sized lotion.
